Accessibility statement

The site is built to meet Israeli Standard 5568 part 1 at level AA. That standard is WCAG 2.0 plus national amendments, and it is not the same as WCAG 2.1.

The accessibility is in the structure rather than in anything added on top of it. Every page is built from a hierarchy of headings and from real text rather than pictures of text. Every action on the site can be carried out from the keyboard alone, the navigation menus and the mobile menu included, and every control has a visible focus indicator. Form fields carry associated labels, and error messages are given as text and never by colour alone.

The site exists in Hebrew and in English, and the writing direction is derived from the language of the page, so a screen reader and a browser both receive the correct direction. Colours come from a single colour layer built to meet the required contrast ratios, and the text stays readable when enlarged to 200% with the browser’s own zoom.

Motion that starts by itself stops automatically for anyone whose operating system is set to reduce motion, and it can also be stopped from within the site, as set out in the next section.

At the top of every page, beside the language switch, there is an "Accessibility" button carrying the international symbol of access. On a narrow screen the button is inside the pop-out menu, together with the language switch. It opens on click or from the keyboard, closes on Escape or on a click outside it, and focus returns to it when it closes.

The button offers six options. "Stop animations" stops all repeating motion on the site and pauses video. "Enlarge text" increases the text size across every page. "Increase contrast" strengthens the contrast between text and its background. "Underline links" adds an underline to every link inside the text. "Light background" switches the site to a light theme, dark text on a light ground. "Increase spacing" widens the space between letters, words and lines. "Reset settings" returns everything to its initial state.

The choice is kept in the browser it was made in and applies across the whole site until it is reset. It is stored locally in that browser only; it is never sent to a server and is not associated with any person.

Of the six options, only stopping animations is required by the standard. The other five are conveniences, and this button is not a substitute for the accessibility of the site itself.

The two PDF documents offered for download on the sustainability page have not been made accessible. Digital documents are governed by Israeli Standard 5568 part 2, a separate standard from the one that applies to the site, and these documents have not been made to conform to it. Everything they contain will be provided in full by telephone or by email, using the details in the next section.

Two components on the site are not under the group’s control. The first is the security check at the foot of the enquiry forms, which is a third-party component; anyone unable to complete it is welcome to make contact by telephone or by email, and an enquiry made that way is handled in exactly the same manner. The second is the client area, which is an external system that opens in a separate window and is not part of this site; a client who has difficulty operating it is welcome to call the switchboard, and the information will be provided directly.

The video on the site is background footage with no sound and no speech, and it carries no information that is not also in the text beside it. It can be stopped from the accessibility button.

The site has not been examined by an external certified accessibility auditor. This statement describes how the site was built and what was tested; it is not a certificate of conformance, and there may be pages or components carrying a gap that has not been identified. Any gap brought to our attention will be examined and addressed.
